    Our client is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable professional to provide safety leadership, training coordination, and safety support.  This position is responsible for organizing and delivering employee and organizational training and development programs.  Additionally, this position is responsible for the coordination of the safety, health, and security compliance programs at the facility.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs and methods
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and delivery of training programs for different levels of staff as well as create training manuals and materials for training
  • Maintain and update education support materials for reference once training has been completed
  • Maintain historical training records
  • Consult with managers and supervisors to assess training needs and develop programs to match these needs
  • Evaluate training progress and training procedures and update curriculum as needed
  • Develop metrics to track training effectiveness
  • Provide safety oversight in accordance with State and Federal OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements
  • Develop and coordinate safety programs in accordance with short and long term strategic safety planning and development
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they follow company and Government requirements/standards/regulations
  • Present weekly safety meetings
  • Provide contractor training
  • Perform and document safety audits and inspections
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process, risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance & mentoring to educate employees about workplace safety initiatives and necessary changes
  • Demonstrate the correct use of safety equipment
  • Investigate incidents, near miss accidents, and occupational injuries to identify causes and how to prevent them BACKGROUND PROFILE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from accredited college or university
  • 5 years of more related work in a manufacturing facility with knowledge of safety related to complex equipment and hazardous substances
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
  • Understanding of government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene
  • Engineering principles
  • Previous experience setting up and coordinating and training
  • Presentation and speaking skills
