We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Occupational Health Administrator in the Albany, NY area (South of Albany)!  This is a key role coordinating Occupational Health Administration efforts with human resources in a unique environment. As the Senior Occupational Health Administrator you will need to have expert knowledge of bloodborne pathogen, respiratory, and hearing OSHA standards as well as Worker’s Compensation experience.  If you’re ready to join a growing company and be an integral member of a great team, this position could be the fit for you!
  • Responsible for worker’s compensation claims and coordinating injury management/return to work; liaison between all involved including HR, medical providers, injured employees, managers/supervisors, etc. to generate reports
  • Responsible for hazard identification, jab safety analysis, and implement preventive safety measures
  • Develop and manage criteria for pre-employment physicals, hearing protection program, respiratory protection program, bloodborne pathogen program and to ensure compliance
  • Assist with incident investigation and safety audits
  • In charge of generating and managing required records (OSHA, worker’s compensation, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance and provide bloodborne pathogen/BSL2 training and activity oversight
  • Assist with development and revisions of policies/procedures regarding occupational safety and health
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff regarding zoonotic agents; coordinate preventive/protective measures for personnel in connection with positive animal health test results
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Registered Nurse preferred, occupational health nurse certification a plus
  • Nursing background with working experience in a lab is ideal
  • 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health Administration highly desired
  • Experience with Worker’s Compensation and coordinating injury management
  • High level of computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication skills
