A leading manufacturer of ceramic products is looking for a Ceramic Engineer for their plant near Macon, GA.  The Ceramic Engineer will support the manufacturing processes by troubleshooting upsets, upgrading processes, updating procedures, developing new products and generally leading all process engineering efforts.  This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Ceramic Engineer to become an expert in this company.  A 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university is required, along with 3 years experience in a ceramic manufacturing environment.  A Ceramic Engineering degree is strongly preferred, but degrees in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar will be considered.  Knowledge and experience with basic ceramic processing (pressing, extrusion, drying, firing, etc.) and ceramic refractory material properties and testing are required.  Experience with ISO9001, statistics and basic QA practices is a major plus.  There is a strong preference for some exposure to statistically designed experiments (DOE) and SPC.  This is a hands-on position and a significant portion of time will be spent on the shop floor troubleshooting production problems, running new product develop trials and implementing continuous improvement projects.  This company offers excellent benefits, including relocation assistance.  Candidates from nearby states are preferred.  Candidates with a stable work record who meet the above requirements and currently work in the ceramic industry are encouraged to apply.
